Nothing Ear (3a) Earbuds Overview

The Nothing Ear (3a) earbuds combine a distinctive transparent design with upgraded audio and smart features. A larger 12mm dynamic driver is designed to deliver stronger sound and deeper bass, while Hi-Res Audio support provides a more detailed listening experience with compatible content and devices.

For noisy environments, the Nothing Ear (3a) ANC earbuds provide up to 45dB of Active Noise Cancellation with noise coverage extending up to 5000Hz. Transparency Mode, Bluetooth 6.0, dual-device connection, Clear Voice Technology and app-based sound customization add versatility for everyday use.

Signature Transparent Design

Ear (3a) continues Nothing’s recognizable transparent design language with visible technological details and a modern in-ear form. The charging case also features a status bar that provides a quick visual reference for the case.

A wider selection of ear tips is included to help users find a more comfortable and secure fit. Choosing the correct ear tip can also help improve passive isolation, bass response and overall noise-cancelling performance.

12mm Dynamic Driver and Hi-Res Audio

The Ear (3a) uses a larger 12mm dynamic driver designed to produce stronger sound and more impactful bass. Combined with Hi-Res Audio support, the earbuds are built to provide detailed wireless audio for music, entertainment and everyday listening.

Sound can be further customized through the Nothing X app, where supported controls allow users to adjust bass, treble and vocals or use an advanced 8-band equalizer to create a more personalized sound profile.

Up to 45dB Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation

The Nothing Ear (3a) noise cancelling earbuds provide up to 45dB of Active Noise Cancellation. The ANC system is designed to recalibrate every millisecond and reduce a wide range of surrounding noise extending up to 5000Hz.

This makes the Ear (3a) suitable for environments such as commuting, travel, offices and other situations where reducing background noise can provide a more focused listening experience.

Transparency Mode

When greater awareness of your surroundings is required, Transparency Mode allows external sound to pass through without requiring you to remove the earbuds.

Users can switch between noise cancellation and environmental awareness depending on their surroundings and listening requirements.

Clear Voice Technology and 6-Mic Calling

Ear (3a) features a 6-microphone system together with Clear Voice Technology to improve voice clarity during calls and recordings. The system is designed to help separate speech from surrounding noise for clearer communication.

This makes the earbuds useful for phone calls, online meetings, work and other situations where microphone performance is important.

Bluetooth 6.0 and Dual-Device Connection

The Nothing wireless earbuds use Bluetooth 6.0 for wireless connectivity with compatible devices. The specified Bluetooth range is up to approximately 15 metres under suitable conditions.

Dual-device connection allows the Ear (3a) to connect with two compatible devices for more convenient switching between devices such as a smartphone and laptop. The earbuds are designed for use with compatible iOS and Android devices.

Low Latency Mode

A Low Latency mode is available to reduce audio delay during supported gaming and entertainment use. This can provide better synchronization between on-screen action and wireless audio when used with compatible devices and settings.

Audio Snapshot and Call Recording

Ear (3a) includes Audio Snapshot and call recording features for capturing supported audio directly through the earbuds. Audio Snapshot can record up to one minute of media, while supported calls and meetings can be recorded for up to two hours.

Recorded content can be managed through the Nothing X app, where supported AI-based features can help organize and transcribe recordings. Pro Transcription can also provide functions such as speaker identification, reminders and extracting quotes.

Note: Call recording availability depends on the country or region and applicable local regulations. Some recording and transcription features may therefore be unavailable in certain locations.

Nothing X App and Smart Features

The Nothing X app provides additional control over the Ear (3a), including supported sound customization and EQ settings. Users can adjust bass, treble and vocals or use the advanced 8-band EQ for more detailed tuning.

The earbuds also support smart features such as ChatGPT and Essential News where compatible. Availability and functionality of individual AI features may depend on the connected device, software, account, app version and region.
